Eso fue el nacimiento de nuestro monasterio. <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-efedecb e-con-full e-flex e-con e-child\" data-id=\"efedecb\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\" data-settings=\"{&quot;background_background&quot;:&quot;classic&quot;}\">\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e0edffe e-con-full e-grid e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"e0edffe\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-8e705f2 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"8e705f2\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Poseemos una copia del siglo XV de la carta con la que Geoffroy atestigua de forma solemne esta donaci\u00f3n. Esta carta fue firmada por los obispos de Mans y de Angers y posteriormente por el rey ingl\u00e9s Guillermo el Conquistador. Leemos esta carta cada a\u00f1o, el 12 de octubre, el aniversario seg\u00fan la tradici\u00f3n oral de la donaci\u00f3n de nuestra iglesia abacial. <\/p><p>Antes de la fundaci\u00f3n del monasterio, en Solesmes hab\u00eda una parroquia fundada tal vez en el siglo V, pero probablemente en el VI o VII. Esta iglesia estaba rodeada de un vasto cementerio. Todav\u00eda conservamos sarc\u00f3fagos que pueden remontarse a la \u00e9poca merovingia.  <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-2574e33 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"2574e33\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>Durante el siglo XII, un noble de Sabl\u00e9 que hab\u00eda sido cruzado trajo de Tierra Santa una espina de la corona de Cristo. La confi\u00f3 al monasterio de Solesmes para su custodia. La presencia de esta reliquia, s\u00edmbolo de la Pasi\u00f3n del Se\u00f1or, fue determinante para el resto de la historia del monasterio y no es casualidad que aparezca en su blas\u00f3n. En efecto, la reliquia atrajo atrajo multitudes y garantiz\u00f3 el renombre y la prosperidad del monasterio.   <\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e23938a elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e23938a\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>La Guerra de los Cien A\u00f1os da\u00f1\u00f3 esa prosperidad: en 1425, el monasterio fue quemado por los ingleses y el pueblo fue reducido a cenizas. Los monjes reconstruyeron la iglesia, mas con unas proporciones m\u00e1s modestas que las del edificio original: las naves laterales y el primer tramo de la nave desaparecieron.
