La f\u00f3rmula que se us\u00f3 fue la de la Confederaci\u00f3n, que dejaba autonom\u00eda jur\u00eddica a cada Congregaci\u00f3n. La Confederaci\u00f3n est\u00e1 liderada por un Abad Primado, elegido por todos los abades benedictinos del mundo. Vive en Roma, en San Anselmo. Nacido el 8 de diciembre de 1964 en Mindelheim, era abad presidente de la Congregaci\u00f3n de San Ottilien, en Baviera.
